We never doubted that we are currently living in an automotive golden age. To bring home that very concept in more ways than one, Chrysler has unleashed yet another monster into the automotive world in the form of the Jeep Grand Cherokee in Hellcat-powered grandeur.
The stops are all being pulled when it comes to what will be dubbed the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk featuring the same 700+ horsepower 6.2-liter Supercharged V8 in the current Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat.
One of the surprising aspects of the Grand Cherokee SRT Trackhawk, is that it will have all-wheel-drive, giving it a traction advantage over its Hellcat brethren. With an advanced all-wheel-drive system and 700 horsepower on tap, the Trackhawk could make it to 60 mph in about 3.5 seconds as claimed by Jeep. As an uproar throw into the mix, the Trackhawk is speculated to be a limited run for just a couple years as the Hellcat will meet its demise come 2019 – a speculation that may drive the guessed price of the Trackhawk from $80K or so into the 6-figure range, but not including ridiculous dealership price gouging with “market adjustments.”
Release dates and additional information should be made available in the months to come with a speculated release for summer of 2016 as a 2017 model year.
