Let’s say you’ve got a Toyota MR2 sitting around and you’re bored. What to do? Well, if you’re Japanese engineering tuner Gazoo, you put an electric motor on the front wheels and create the four-wheel-drive Gazoo Sports Hybrid Concept.
Okay, it looks like any other tuner car with bulging fenders superfluous vents and spilled-paint graphics, but underneath it’s an interesting piece of kit. The car’s primary, gasoline motivation has been upgraded to a 3MZ-FE 3.3-liter V6 that never found its way into the MR2 as well as a mysterious front electric motor system. Together, and because of a relatively light weight of 2860 lbs, it’s supposedly quite a rocketship. Of course, we’d be able to tell you more, but our Japanese is rustier than a pig-iron anchor.
